Free Internet Marketing: Replace Your Income Using Only Free Online Strategies

I started internet marketing in January of this year and, despite earning enough money to allow me to quit my job and do this full time, still feel like a newbie. In this business, you quickly realise how vast and the internet marketing arena really is. Because of the sheer scale of the internet and the number of money-making strategies to reflect this huge amount of opportunity, the average newbie will spend months just getting to grips with most of the general profit avenues internet marketing has to offer, and they will find themselves divulged with offers of brand new internet marketing software, internet marketing books, internet marketing tips etc. However, it is essential that the newbie always bears in mind that the quickest, simplest and easiest way to make money online is via free internet marketing.

There are many free internet marketing methods to make fast money online. For example, a newbie could collate free information about blogging, and then set up a free blog at Blogspot or Wordpress; the newbie could then insert some AdSense for free and get about optimising the pages so the search engines would attract visitors. Or the newbie could try affiliate marketing; the newbie would simply go over to Clickbank, get a free affiliate code, choose a product to affiliate for, and then start hitting free internet forums targeted for their product to promote it in their profile signature. And this is the tip of the iceberg when it comes to free internet marketing.

The internet marketing Gods reward those who are innovative. So why not see how creative you can be? You could try and link several free blogs to articles and to forum postings. Create a large network that is earning money for you on autopilot. I know of several individuals who do nothing more than post in forums all day long and earn a small fortune from it. There is absolutely no reason why you cannot replace (and even improve) your full-time job income using simple free internet marketing methods. You do not need the latest internet marketing software to make cash.

Whenever a newbie asks me how to make money online, I strongly urge them to do it through free internet marketing methods. I tell them to research all the free internet marketing methods they can through internet marketing forums, make comprehensive notes, then compile a plan, and then follow through with it. Never allow yourself to get distracted. And here is my golden rule - if you cannot replace your full-time job income through simple free internet marketing methods, then you should not consider moving any further in the internet marketing world. This is basic stuff. Just because they happen to be free methods, don't make the mistake of thinking that somehow limits the amount you can earn, because there is no cap. Some people have become multi-millionaires through using free internet marketing methods.

Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime. Don't buy into the hype of aggressive sales letters, don't allow yourself to get magnetised by the latest software releases. Focus on the established free methods of making cash online, take consistent action, be open to constructive criticism, and it's more than likely you will eventually become a very wealthy individual. This is the bread-and-butter of internet marketing and, in time to come, you will realise that the expensive courses only really provide tips, tricks and refinements to the education you gave yourself from free internet marketing methods.

"Internet Marketing" - Not Dead Just In A State Of Coma!

Internet marketing is feeling down and going through a long period of sickness...

Symptoms:

Puking Product Launches

Joint Venture Vomiting

The Boys Club Biliousness (you give me your testimonial and I'll give you mine!)

Sensationalism Sickness

Not so long ago the internet marketing community were all blasted with "ADSENSE IS DEAD"

Some believed it, some didn't, personally I believed it but only because I wasn't earning from it, but you try telling that to people like Joel Comm and the other internet marketing people, who are still receiving healthy cheques from Google, I think they might have one or two words to the contrary!

Now we are faced with the headline "Internet Marketing Is Dead".

Do we believe it? Is the author just being alarmist or scare mongering or seeking the limelight? Well regarding the latter of those three, and considering the author is internet marketing "Guru", Mike Filsaime, I think not!

Now Mike Filsaime claimed in the report that he was not selling anything, there was no "one time offer" and no "back end product".... I believe him, but considering that the site where the internet marketing report was downloaded, was in the very low hundreds of the most popular web sites, (not only internet marketing but the whole world wide web, and this was confirmed by Mike himself in an E-mail to his existing list) then I think I can safely say that he scraped together one hell of a sizeable internet marketing, mailing list in the last few days!

OK we must not forget that he paid $1 for every name that was referred to his list by some other internet marketer, but you can bet your life that he will be monetizing that list at some time in the future, and I don't think he will publicise the fact when he does!

On the same subject, the internet marketing ace, Scott Boulch collected a list of over 38,000 internet marketing names during the period that he promoted his "Adsense Is Dead" campaign, and now he's promoting the list building software with which he did it!

But Scott never claimed that he wouldn't make any money from it!

All I'm saying is that these internet marketing people at the top, have an awful lot of pulling power! and unfortunately, a large amount of the internet marketing community are desperate to make money, and therefore fall into the "sheep mentality", allowing themselves to be shepherded through the internet marketing fields of the internet, and eventually to the market of monetization or even salesmanship slaughter!

The internet marketing "Gurus" of today have pop star status and tremendous powers to influence their followers.

Just like the top guns in the currency markets have the power to sway markets at will and enough influence to bring a small country to its knees. The sad thing is, they do it with their own interests at heart!

"WHO DO YOU TRUST?"

Let's just think about things for a moment....

When you get a recommendation for an internet marketing product in your inbox, you're dying to find out about it, if, it sounds good, but where are you going to go to get that kind of information?

There isn't one place- there are hundreds of internet marketing forums... discussion boards, etc..

Some people go to internet marketing forums and boards but there's little moderator controls there... the only incentive to post in a forum about an internet marketing product, besides being really helpful, is to place your affiliate link in the signature file so you could get a few sales, and this is important: So there's NO incentive to post a NEGATIVE about a product...

There is no "consumer report" on internet marketing products or people in the internet marketing industry, and even if there was, most people in the internet marketing niche would believe that it was not an 'objective' review anyway, if it came from the publisher of the site...

Skepticism is at an all time high in the internet marketing niche... (and probably other niches too).

So, what's your answer to the question: WHO DO YOU TRUST? When it comes to buying products in the Internet marketing niche? Where do you go for OBJECTIVE advice and reviews before you buy?

Internet Marketing: A Look At The Basics - The Internet Marketing Course

You know, I have been an internet marketer for almost ten years now. I have reached a point where I actually support myself, and quite well, I might add, from my internet businesses.

It wasn't always so. I made a lot of dumb, and sometimes ignorant (the two are not the same) mistakes along the way. Somehow, I managed to learn enough about internet marketing to get successful at it in spite of myself. However, in the process, I paid for a lot of junk and wasted my time on a lot of things that didn't work. I usually refer to this as "accidental tuition".

As a result, I get a little irked when someone approaches me, or posts a message on a forum, saying or implying that they want to get into or have found an internet business that "makes money" or "guarantees" success. I have found that a successful internet business is just like the brick-and-mortar kind. It takes dedication, motivation, inspiration, hard work...and sometimes blind luck.

A successful internet marketing strategy is just like its non-internet business counterpart. It is made up of several factors, and does not simply consist of putting a guy on the sidewalk with a sign on a stick, or building a website and submitting it to search engines. Most people would not expect the sign on the stick to work marketing miracles, but, probably in internet ignorance, they tend to believe the website + search engine = success scenario.

Many who read this article think that way, at least until they read what I wrote in the paragraph above this one. Despite the negativity of the previous paragraph, however, I am not trying to discourage anyone from forming an internet business or diving into the internet marketing pool. It's fun in here, and the more the merrier! I DO want to dispel unrealistic expectations of what is involved in running an internet business in general, and what is involved in internet marketing in particular.

A point I am gradually sneaking up on is that, like many things in life, successful internet marketing may not be as simple as it looks. Nor will one single strategy work for every internet business at all times. It will be necessary to learn many things and some, which may seem simple and basic, may need to be modified to meet the needs of each unique internet business. The bright side is that many techniques are tried and true and will probably serve anyone well, although they might work better for one business than another.

Internet marketing itself can seem relatively simple. You start with a good product or service, create quality marketing vehicles (most important being the website), and then you lead people to the website. In fact, that's all that internet marketing is about...getting interested people to your website.

How do you do that? Well, that's where things get complicated. You can use Pay-Per-Click search engines, search engine optimization, opt-in mailing lists, free gifts, business cards, flyers, contests, rewards! The list is bounded only by your imagination.

There are four basic ways to acquire the mass of background information you need for a successful internet marketing strategy:

1. Go through the internet university of hard knocks, like I, and so many others, have.
The tuition is high, and it will probably take you a few years to get your diploma.

2. Go into research. That is, read everything you can find on the internet, running an internet business, and internet marketing. This too will take a long period of time, and you will still probably have to go out of pocket as you test your learning at various points.

3. Find a mentor. There are people on the internet who have been successful and who share this information with others. Quite often, even they charge a fee, but your opportunity for success might be higher. However, it is difficult to find someone to be your mentor. They are running their own businesses.

4. Take an internet marketing course. If you can find the right course, even though you will have to pay for the course, the information you can glean can save you hundred or even thousands of dollars as you wade into the fast running stream of internet business opportunities. I have taken three of these courses myself, and wish I had known of their existence when I first started trying to make money on the internet. I could have save thousands of dollars and hours of time, and an immeasurable amount of frustration.

Simply taking an internet marketing course will not guarantee you success, of course. In fact, you will begin to realize how many ways you can fail! However, you will learn important lessons that you can use to create a successful internet business. I do NOT recommend trying to learn it on your own.

Internet Marketing for Lawyers - Advice That Counts

Lawyers face the same challenges any business does. In order to get new business they must market their services, i.e., advertise. And lawyers deal with the same marketing and advertising challenge every business does - how to beat the competition. Plus lawyers have to assume that any Internet or non-Internet marketing or advertising they do may well produce little or no results for the amount of time and money they spend -- regardless of what an outside marketing or advertising advisor may say to the contrary.

Prior to the Internet the main non-Internet marketing option or advertising choice for any lawyer was to advertise in the yellow pages. To this day the print yellow pages contain plenty of colorful, one page display ads that feature lawyers offering their services, and lawyers pay a lot for these ads. How effective these ads are is anyone's guess -- it's hard for your colored, one page display ad to stand out when you have 20 other lawyers doing the exact same thing! The yellow pages companies, however, continue to promote their marketing and advertising philosophy that "bigger is always better" and "everything we sell is an opportunity," so they often present a lawyer with a non-Internet marketing and advertising solution that costs plenty but often produces little.

This line of thinking, along with the use of print yellow pages in general, has gone the way of the dinosaur at a very accelerated pace. The yellow pages in print form had their heyday for many decades, but the population now goes to the Internet for the information they seek, so most print directories are collecting dust. A lawyer who advertises in the print yellow pages may well get calls, but they'll most likely be from vendors using the yellow pages as a cheap source of leads.

The major paid search providers (pay per click search engines) tend to offer lawyers Internet marketing and advertising solutions in a manner similar to the way the yellow pages do with their print directories. "Bigger is always better," so rather than realistically discuss with a lawyer a pay per click Internet marketing and advertising campaign that makes financial sense and produces a decent ROI, the pay per click providers will tell the lawyer to go for as many top listing keywords (the most expensive) as their budget will permit and bid as high as they can. The lawyer may go broke in the process, but at least they'll get exposure! Many lawyers get into pay per click as a quick way to get leads but quickly exit a month later after spending lots of money for Internet marketing and advertising results that produce nothing but expense.

While pay per click Internet marketing and advertising is the running favorite of Internet marketing advertisers worldwide, pay per click advertising for a lawyer is usually an extremely expensive proposition for what they get. How much a lawyer is willing to "pay for a lead" takes on a whole new meaning with pay per click. The cost per click for many lawyer related keywords, e.g., "personal injury lawyer," "criminal defense lawyer," can range from $5.00 to $70.00 per click depending on the market, and when the typical lawyer's conversion rate (the number of clicks it takes to generate a lead) of one to two percent is factored in, the lawyer can find themselves paying upwards of $500.00 to $7,000.00 per lead, and a lead is not a client.

Part of the problem lawyers face when they work with pay per click (and this translates directly into poor conversion rates) is that (1) they spend little time creating their pay per click ads and (2) the ads direct traffic to the lawyer's website. Any Internet marketing professional who knows something about pay per click knows you never send pay per click traffic to a website. Instead you create special pages, i.e., "landing pages" for pay per click traffic to be directed to. The landing pages perform the job of convincing traffic to do what the lawyer requires, which is normally to contact the lawyer via e-mail or by phone.

Legal Internet directories and portals offer the lawyer a potential Internet marketing and advertising option because of their popularity and enhanced Internet visibility. How effective a listing in a legal Internet directory or portal can be for a lawyer in terms of marketing, advertising and Internet exposure will depend upon the particular attributes of the legal Internet directory or portal in question. All things being equal, legal Internet directories or portals that charge a fee to be listed in them make more sense as an Internet marketing and advertising choice than similar sites that offer listings for free. The lawyer has to be particularly careful, however, when they consider advertising in legal Internet directories and portals that "look" like they offer a lot -- and a price to go with it -- but for whatever reasons simply do not produce enough leads for the amount of Internet marketing and advertising money the lawyer must spend.

Many legal Internet directories and portals exist that have a very strong Internet presence, and they are excellent resource centers for lawyers, but this does not automatically make them good places to advertise. With Internet legal portals especially it's not how many lawyers the portal attracts but how many people the Internet legal portal attracts who are searching for legal services. People have paid thousands of dollars for advertising in Internet legal portals that have produced nothing in the way of Internet marketing and advertising results. A very wise idea for any lawyer who considers advertising in an Internet legal portal is to get some very accurate user demographics on what kind of specific traffic the Internet legal portal is actually attracting.

What is a lawyer supposed to do? Everywhere the lawyer looks, whether the marketing and advertising media is Internet or non-Internet, considerable financial risk is involved, and a guarantee that the lawyer will get good, solid results for the amount of money they spend is often hard to achieve.

Ultimately the best way for a lawyer to go with Internet marketing and advertising - the way that will ultimately get them the best long term results for the money they spend -- is to focus on getting their website to rank high in organic search results. When all things are considered, people on the Internet who search for goods and services mainly search for websites to find their answers. They may look to legal Internet directories and portals, and if they don't find what they want they may turn to pay per click listings as a last resort (only about 30% to 40% of users bother with pay per click) but ultimately people who search the Internet are looking for websites that provide them with the answers they seek.

If a lawyer is looking for an Internet marketing and advertising solution that doesn't require being part of the pay per click crowd, the lawyer may want to look into pay per phone call programs. Pay per phone call is like pay per click, but the lawyer does not pay for a call unless they receive one. And the costs for pay per phone call are normally substantially less that what the lawyer will pay for a click in many cases. A smart lawyer may even want to consider getting involved with several pay per phone call providers with the idea that between the providers the lawyer will receive enough leads in the aggregate to make involvement with these programs worth it.

Many of the Internet marketing and advertising solutions that a lawyer chooses to look into must be tried on a case by case basis. Absolutely nothing can be assumed. A pay per click advertising campaign that works extremely well for the lawyer with one search provider might fail miserably with another.

One last thing that a lawyer should be aware of when it comes to the Internet and a website presence is that appearances really do count. Many people have been on the Internet for 10 years and have correspondingly seen websites of all types and styles. People are used to seeing professionally designed websites. The lawyer's website should be too.

Should You Hire an Internet Marketing Expert?

Starting out in internet marketing is almost always overwhelming
to e-business newcomers, even if they are seasoned business
professionals or marketing experts. Internet marketing is truly
original and quite different from traditional marketing. The
complexity is compounded for those who do not have vast
experience operating or marketing a business. Whatever the
circumstances, many new internet entrepreneurs ponder the idea of
hiring an internet marketing expert to get their internet-based
business off the ground.

There are different types of internet marketing experts who
provide various levels of support and services. Hiring or
contracting to a full-service internet marketing expert can be
quite expensive, but using limited services of an internet
marketing expert can be both cost-effective and advantageous for
a new internet business. Another option to hiring an internet
marketing expert is to pursue training and educational
opportunities in internet marketing that will prepare you to
become an internet marketing expert yourself.

Some services offered internet marketing expert firms include:

1. Preparation of marketing plans

2. Internet marketing
consulting services

3. Management of specific internet marketing
campaigns

4. Full-service planning and management of the internet
marketing program

Having an internet marketing expert craft a marketing plan that
is specific to your business is a good way to gain an
introduction to internet marketing and to realize your internet
marketing potential. A marketing plan prepared by an internet
marketing expert should contain an analysis of your business and
your industry as well as identifying and evaluating your
competition and recommending a niche market for you to target.

The internet marketing expert should also outline internet
marketing strategies for you to use to reach your target market
and to drive targeted traffic to your website. Specifics of your
planned internet marketing campaign should be included in the
marketing plan along with milestones and an internet marketing
budget. Using an internet marketing expert in this capacity will
provide you with a clear internet marketing plan that will serve
as a guide for your internet marketing program.

Internet consulting services provided by an internet marketing
expert can be provided one-on-one, through classes or through
coaching. Generally, such consulting services accomplish the same
thing as a marketing plan prepared by an internet marketing
expert, but they are less formal and more intended to condition
you to prepare and administer your own marketing plan and
program. Working with an internet marketing expert on a
consulting basis is a great way to learn about internet marketing
and to prepare yourself to manage your own internet marketing
program.

Sometimes you may find it beneficial to hire or contract an
internet marketing expert to manage a specific area of your
internet marketing campaign that is time consuming. Search engine
optimization and pay-per-click management are examples of these
specific activities that may benefit from the use of an internet
marketing expert. Both require ongoing monitoring and adjustments
to be continually effective and cost-efficient. Linking campaigns
are also ongoing, time consuming tasks that you may want to
consider outsourcing to an internet marketing expert.

A full-service internet marketing expert generally provides a
wide-array of internet marketing services. Among them are the
marketing planning tasks of reviewing the industry, identifying
the competition, analyzing the market, pinpointing a target
market, developing a unique selling proposition, identifying
marketing methods, and planning the marketing budget. Once the
marketing plan is in place and approved by you, the full-service
internet marketing expert actually launches and manages your
internet marketing campaign.

Considering all of the levels of service that an internet
marketing expert can provide will help you to decide whether or
not to hire an internet marketing expert. The main advantages of
using the services of an internet marketing expert are access to
expertise and freeing up your time. The disadvantage, of course,
is the cost associated with the use of an internet marketing
expert. In making that crucial decision for your unique business,
a cost-benefit analysis can provide guidance to ensure that you
make the best decision for your business.
